Summer in the UK is hiding again, but we’re still in full summer mode!

Summer. I love the idea of summer in theory. But in actuality it makes me a sweaty mess and burns the hell out of my poor alabaster skin. Any other pale fatties have difficulty in the summer? I was lying on the beach in full sun just under four weeks ago, and I’m only just recovering from the sunburn. Now I’m back to wearing tights, and frankly miss that summer feeling. So England had a bit of a heatwave, just in time for me to head South to spend some time with my family. Although the reason for going back home was less than ideal, I did get to do something I’ve not done in years. Go to the damn beach and get in the sea! Can I swim for shit? Absolutely not. But did I get to sit my arse in the water and swallow half a gallon of salty sea water and get so sunburnt I haven’t been able to wear a bra for a week? Ohhhh, you bet! It’s Wednesday, and I’m here to remind you what day it is and to tell you to brush your teeth. I know you’ve forgotten to do it since the weekend, it’s okay — no judgement here. But I digress!! As a furloughed worker, sadly I can’t put my money where my mouth is and support small businesses at this time.
