So England had a bit of a heatwave, just in time for me to head South to spend some time with my family. Although the reason for going back home was less than ideal, I did get to do something I’ve not done in years. Go to the damn beach and get in the sea! Can I swim for shit? Absolutely not. But did I get to sit my arse in the water and swallow half a gallon of salty sea water and get so sunburnt I haven’t been able to wear a bra for a week? Ohhhh, you bet! Wouldn’t change that for the world. So here’s some Fat Girl Summer Style especially for the beach!

Did you know that Snag, overlord of tights that fit, have gone into making clothing and swimwear? Oh yes, just you wait, they’re going to be overlord of Everything That Fits soon enough! Their swimwear range just launched, and I really like what they’re putting out. I’m still all about those vintage-style suits personally, but this little black number could definitely sway me to be a bit more beach-goth!
And thanks to the ultimate sunburn I’m currently dealing with, I’m also realising the importance of a cover up. Dear Curves do a lovely range of kimono robes now, and I think they’d be perfect to keep the sun from obliterating you! Paired with some Salties from Salt Water Sandals. Because I’ve lived near pebble beaches my whole life. And you really, really need to wear shoes on those things. My feet will never be the same trying to climb up a bank of sharp rocks, you know.
