And never was there such a tale of woe, than of Juliet and her Romeo.
Although it’s been snowing recently, it’s spring/summer time for every fashion brand out there, and Vendula London is no exception! Working for this cult handbag brand is my day job (Surely you knew that, right?) and we’re getting into our new season launches. This week we’re bringing you an incredible new range, modelled by a familiar face! So here’s to introducing the Vendula London Shakespeare’s Theatre range!

I love a new season at work, and this year has been so much fun since I’ve been working online! Last week we launched the incredible Animal Park range with Flamingo and Giraffe options. And as well, the newest Vendula Pub, The Swan Inn. Seeing people get excited for new designs is one of the better parts of my job. I get to see how hard the team work behind the scenes to make the magic happen. And then I also get to see how those designs are reciprocated!
This week, we had an early launch, and one that I’ve been excited to be revealed. Modelled by me!! This design is inspired by Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy, Romeo and Juliet. On the Shakespeare’s Theatre range you can see our signature cats playing the star-crossed lovers. I offered Meowmeo and Mewliet as names, but everyone hated it hahaha. Plus the signature half-cladding design, welcoming pennants and a thatched roof!

Now, I’m a little bit biased — but I bloody love this range. The colours are lovely (red, of course), the design is charming as hell and there’s little hidden designs on the Crossbody and Grab bags! The range itself is limited edition, even with serial numbers inside that are unique to each bag that’s made. Which is a brand new feature that’s pretty awesome, I’d say. Add to that two brand new shopfront bag styles, and it’s a really important range for us at Vendula.
Personally, it’s an important range to me. I happen to be the first fat woman on Vendula’s website! I’ve modelled quite a few times before for different brands, but this one is really special to me. And it may not even seem like a big deal; but being a Lifetime Fatty, I grew up never seeing people that looked like me in advertising. The fact that I not only see it on my own company’s website, but also BE that representation? It really holds a special piece of my heart, and is something I feel grateful to my job for. Plus, the retoucher didn’t edit me thinner or edit out my double chin, which is bloody awesome.
So what do you think about the new Shakespeare’s theatre range?
