Hey guys! Happy Saturday. Or Sunday. Or Wednesday — frankly time has no meaning to me at the moment. I’ve had a low sort of week, honestly, so I’ve been working hard on the just surviving part of lockdown. And you know the thing I miss the most about being inside? Getting all glammed up with somewhere to go. (I lie, I never have anywhere to go…) But I decided that if I can’t make drama happen whilst I’ve got the time, I never will! So today I’m styling a sheer blouse, which seems to be on-trend at the moment. But you know, make it drama.

I bought this SHEIN blouse a while back in one of my sprees (back when I had disposable income hahahahahahelp). Originally I wanted something plain, sheer and black to add a little 40’s glamour to my wardrobe, but this polkadot friend came along instead. At the time the price was something ridiculous like £3, so even though it looked a bit too shiny for my tastes, you can’t snap at a price like that!

This is one of those items that I love in theory, but looking back on these images, it just might not be very ‘me’. Or maybe it’s just that my hair isn’t big enough and I chose the wrong skirt. Who knows.
Styling a Sheer Blouse
I wanted to go with a generic ‘me’ style, colour blocking black and red. It’s a winning combo for me, as my last post will attest! And since I recently fixed this old skirt (the zip has been broken for years, my alteration pile is a mess), I thought it would be the perfect combination. Looking back, a pencil skirt would be a much better fit for this outfit, since the blouse is all about drama as it is! Maybe I’ll try that out next time I get chance.

The one thing I do love about this blouse is the fact it hits a perfect bracelet length on the sleeves. Perfect for showing off some Bow and Crossbones bangles! The pussy-bow necktie is also wonderful, although I will say that I didn’t expect it to be so frustrating to have fabric that close to my face!

It might not be my best outfit, but the chance to dress fancy at the moment is certainly welcomed!
What do you guys think? How would you style a sheer blouse?
