Happy Saturday beautiful people! Hows your week been? I’ve had a positive week after a big decision to change up my life, and it’s really paying off at the moment. I have actual time to do things – which is currently a novelty! But I digress. It’s Saturday Style time with a twist – since I’m giving away the dress I’m reviewing! So let’s get to it, right? Today we’re looking at the Rue107 Miranda dress!
When I was deciding the products I like from Rue107, the Miranda Dress really stood out to me. They don’t specialise in vintage styles, of course – but this has a Marilyn in Niagara sort of feel, don’t you think?
There’s three colours to choose from, and although I loved the yellow, there’s always room for a black sundress in my life!
I’m going to get a bit real here – this dress does NOT work for me at all. It’s sad, but very true.
As mentioned with my last post on Rue107, the sizing is just a bit off with this dress. I took this in the 2XL since I was bang-on the measurements. A 3XL might of worked better for me, but ultimately my body and the Miranda dress just don’t want to get on.
I don’t want to take away from how lovely this dress is, though, even if it doesn’t suit me! On the right body, this would be SO wearable through the summer. The tie bust feature is my favourite part, and the whole thing would look great on a beach with flip flops, or dressed up with pearls. Perfect holiday dress, maybe?
Now, you might of noticed in some of the pictures that there’s some serious underboob going on. That tie bust is what I think is the biggest issue for me in particular.
I’m small-busted at a 40D, with bottom-heavy breasts. This mainly means I have no natural cleavage, and kinda lose my boobs when I’m not wearing a bra. So it’s not too surprising that they’ve gone and disappeared in this dress! It’s definitely the sort of style that suits bigger, fuller busts. I just couldn’t tie it in a way that looked good, or wear a bra to force a shape.
Thanks to my boobs not co-operating, I think the straps are all out of place and nothing fits right. Bloody boobs ruining my dress fun.
The way the skirt flares isn’t my favourite thing either, honestly. I like a full skirt to encompass my huge hips, and this half-circle style is better for people who want a skirt to skim. I used to have a lot of problems with certain retro brands for this exact reason – the joys of having a 12″ difference between waist and hip.
Although whilst we’re on the subject of waists – I found this actually came up big in the waist. I couldn’t win with this one! Miranda, why must you have forsaken me?
But it’s not all doom and gloom, because it is a great dress. Just not a great dress for me. So now for the part you’ve been waiting for;
Win This Dress!
So. This dress hasn’t worked out for me at all. But what doesn’t work for me might just be perfect for you! Instead of letting it sit around, I want someone that will give it the use it deserves. So I’m giving away this dress to whoever thinks it would work better for them!

I love the vintage styling you’ve done but would go a bit more goth with my styling. Witch boots , black chocker , thin stud belt, and wide brim hat. Maybe a lace shawl if I needed a bit more coverage.
Yessssss! I love the witchy vibes! Just goes to show how versatile a black dress can be!
I do find this dress pretty on you! But if you dont feel nice in it, that is the only thing that really counts! How you feel in it. 🙄
I would style this with my vintage peacock belt. An arabic silver bracelet. Silver earrings, dark red lips and a nice comfy shoe. Wouldnt wear much with it ’cause the focus point for me is the opening and the boobsybow ♡
I LOVE ‘Boobsybow’! That is just amazing. I love the styling idea, I’d love to see that vintage peacock belt!
I’d totally set my hair and wear some beautiful flowers from pin up curl. And I have the cutest black ankle strapped heels from miss l fire (my unicorns) [email protected]
I love it!
Hey, Melody!
I am in the process of changing my wardrobe and no longer have a “little black dress”. If I won this dress I would buy accessories in 2 or 3 shades so I could change it up often. ☺
Well that’s just a shame now, isn’t it? They’re just the perfect dress to have for all occasions!
Such a lovely dress. I think it DOES suit you – and especially with the way you have styled it with the red accessories (including your hair, of course!). K
I live in black and love the red accessories you’ve used in this outfit. I think the outfit you’ve put together is perfect and you look great.
I’m kind of a plain Jane when it comes to putting outfits together and mainly focus on the shoes I wear. I’m thinking black and white creepers with cute little ankle sock. I’d possibly use a few white accessories with this dress to complement my hair, as the red accessories do yours. 🙂
I’ve been dreaming about a dress like this for years 😍.
I’m obsessed with black and mustard at the moment and this dress would look perfect with a mustard belt and earrings.
Fingers crossed!
Lots of love,
Lollo

I’ve fallen in love, and I honestly have no idea how I’d style it, but I have the boobs, now all I need is the dress!

Ps, you always look wonderful!
Absolutely LOVE this dress! I would style it with my leopard print jacket & doc martens! Xx
