Easier said than done, as always, but it’s the trying that counts, right? Today we’re back to daily style and Outfits Of The Week. With a spin of course — I didn’t leave the house! So this week we’re looking at Casual Vintage Looks to wear at home whilst you’re in self isolation.

Now I know you’re likely bored of seeing any mention of self isolation. I am too! It’s going on a month that I’ve been inside already and I’m honestly tired of the whole thing. But we have to keep positive when we keep ourselves at home, don’t we? I mentioned last week in my post that dressing each day has been helping my mental health. So I figured I’d show off a few of my at-home casual vintage looks for you all! And maybe give you some tips on staying comfy and cute at the same time!

Skirts are my go-to item at any time of the year, as you probably already know. I bloody love a good skirt! Wear a patterned skirt with a plain top for a simple look, or mix and match prints and colours to match your mood. I’m a big fan of gingham so gingham skirts and black tops and jumpers are my staple. Omit belts and jewellery to keep outfits comfortable. Because who wants to be swanning around in a belt?

Just so you know, the apron was 100% necessary to photograph myself in. I’ve been baking an awful lot to keep me occupied, and this Rilakkuma apron I bought in Japan a few years ago has come in handy! I honestly never thought it would be worn — but this ol’ lockdown has brought on a few firsts.

Apron aside, the best way to get some casual vintage looks to wear at home is an old-fashioned Swirl-style dress. These wrap dresses are a vintage housewife dream, just slip them on and you’re looking wonderful! Even when you look as tired as I do. My skin isn’t liking being inside. Turbans are also a great accessory for hiding roots, FYI.

Jersey should be your best friend in general, to be fair. But I’m busting out every stretchy jersey dress I own at the moment to keep comfortable and cute whilst I keep my arse inside. Honestly, I think I’ve worn this Lady Voluptuous Lyra dress at least three times since being furloughed. It’s literally the perfect dress for looking composed whilst lounging about.
