So if you’re keeping tabs on my Instagram you might know I happen to be in Shanghai at the moment! But that isn’t stopping me from showing you something spooky! I got all dressed up for the holidays and slipped on my skeleton dress from Boohoo Plus for some plus size Halloween Style!
Plus Size Halloween Style with Boohoo Plus!

So I’m kinda cheating here, since I bought this dress last year to wear to a Halloween record hop. But as I mentioned in my Halloween Style Wednesday Wants, it’s back in stock!

I’ve mentioned a few times that this year I’ve really gotten into Halloween. Usually it’s not my thing, or at least I’ve had some post-traumatic stress around this time, thanks to being assaulted at a Halloween party seven years ago. Nothing kills your love for a holiday more than sexual assault and a broken cheekbone, right?
But I digress. It took me a few years to stop being afraid of going outside around Halloween, and a couple of years on top of that to actually enjoy the season of spooky!

So this year I decided to step up my appreciation for Halloween early, and take some inspiration from a popular pin up illustration from the 50’s for this style!
The dress is in my usual 22, and there’s a lot of stretch in it! I like my pencil dresses looser around my stomach, but I could easily go a size down in this.

Now as you can see, I took some literal inspiration to recreate the image! And the eagle-eyed among you might notice why I tried the 40s half poodle from my last post, now. Doesn’t it look like a completely different hairstyle with this outfit?

I also got my nails done early in the month. I’m an every-four-weeks-or-more sort of girl when it comes to acrylic nails, because I’m too poor and lazy to go every two weeks as recommended. So with knowing I wasn’t going to get them done until November, I decided to go for dripping blood nails for all of October! I get my nails done at Kats Klaws in Turnpike Lane – and I get the perfect stilettos every time. North London girls, get on it!
What’s your spooky style this year?
