Hey folks! Hope we’re doing well and keeping sane this week?
It’s been a rough few weeks, hasn’t it? But at the same time, full of so much social change, which is incredible! With anti-racist protests happening all over the world and positive change against idolisation of slave traders — what a world to be in at the moment. I’m a little exhausted considering I’ve been preparing things for the reopening of my shops, and boy am I not used to that amount of work yet! But on the up side, there’s some plus size alternative fashion for you to look at today!

I flit between vintage-style and alternative style often these days. I’m a big ol’ emo kid at heart, and listen to a lot of alternative music as a default. Not that I don’t enjoy rockabilly and ‘vintage’ music, but my heart belongs heavy drumbeat and sick guitar riffs. Which is why I’m showcasing a bit more plus size alternative style on the blog these days. I’ve often felt like these two sides of me can’t meet, but what’s the point in being a modern day woman without the joy of choice, right?

Plus Size Alternative Style
So it happened to be my birthday two weeks ago, and with birthdays comes the excitement of birthday money! I’ve had my eye on the Hell Bunny Dakota Pinafore for a while now, and with help from my sister-in-law I finally purchased it. And I haven’t worn much else since. Seriously, this thing is AMAZING.

Let’s quickly go through the features of this little dress, yeah? Cross-back straps. Awesome. Front pocket big enough for a phone. Awesome. Button placket. Awesome. Stretch denim. Fucking awesome. Ability to wear this with alternative and 60’s style? Aw yes, we’re going with awesome on that too. Literally the only thing I don’t like about this pinafore is the fact it doesn’t have in-seam skirt pockets. However it’s kinda understandable why, so you can’t even be that mad.
And of course, did I accessorise with feminist pins from Punky Pins and Milk and Moon? Yes I did, we’re getting more and more political as the days go on, son!

Honestly, I just feel all sorts of badass in this. It’s also ridiculously comfortable, too. If you’re looking at buying one of these — size down twice. I usually wear a 22 and wear a Hell Bunny 3XL, but I’m actually wearing the 1XL in this pinafore and it fits me perfectly with a little wiggle room.
Now we just need covid to fuck off so protesting is safer to do to complete the look!
So how do we feel about this plus size alternative style today, guys?
