Welp. This is one of those posts I never thought I’d be comfortable enough to do.
Hello friends and welcome to another weekend! Hope you’re all well, safe and ready for something good! I’m actually off for a week now, and will be heading off to Portsmouth for some family time and hopefully the beach! But before I head off, I’m going to do something a little on the scary side. I’m posting a review today of some gorgeous underwear courtesy of IDentity Lingerie.

Now, I’ve reviewed/modelled underwear before. Most people in my life have seen me in my pants, the majority of the world has at least seen my bra. I have absolutely no problem being in my underwear, either around people or online. The scary part for me? Low rise anything. As someone that grew up despising their body, I found a solace in high waisted knickers. I felt ‘pulled in’, and got comfortable in the idea of being able to hide my fatness in high waists.
When I was approached by IDentity Lingerie to review some of their gorgeous handmade items, I was initially terrified. Don’t get my wrong, everything on their site is just absolutely gorgeous. And I love that they have a range of bodies showcasing their products. But me and my big ol’ belly? Surely not!

And you know what? I fucking love these images.
I’ll talk more about the lingerie later, but one of the most important things about this set is how sexy I feel in it. Me and my my big ol’ belly, with it’s welts, stretch marks, scars and spots — just hanging out, looking fucking fine and feeling like a different human being. I literally never thought I’d be posting photos of my belly button online, and here I am, not even hating it a little bit.

IDentity Lingerie
So let’s talk about IDentity Lingerie, shall we? I’ll admit I’d never heard of them before they reached out, but I do love what they’re doing! They’re a small family run brand based in Lincolnshire — priding themselves on high-quality handmade pieces and for promoting a healthy body image across all platforms. They’re a sustainable and ethical brand, aiming to reduce negative impact mass production. Their sizes are from an S to XXL, but they do custom sizes since everything is made in house! And honestly, we love a small business that has access to true inclusivity, don’t we?

Sexy Bralette and Lace Knickers
So lets talk about these pieces! This Sexy Bralette in red lace with strap detail is a lovely little triangle bralette that clips over the head. I took this in the XXL, which is currently a little on the tight side — but I always order slightly smaller bralettes, since I find they stretch to fit pretty quickly. Bralettes are non-padded, non-wired bras that are more comfortable for wearing than their wired counterparts. Since ol’ lockdown, I’ve found myself preferring them more and more. I just love the comfort, and as a smaller-busted fatty, I don’t need a massive amount of support.
The lace knickers to match are Brazilian-cut, which is a hybrid of a thong and regular cut. I genuinely haven’t worn a thong since I was in my mid-teens, but these are a million miles away from the garrotting g-string of the early 2000s. Lined in a super soft jersey, with a mid-cheek rise — these pants are genuinely the most comfortable things to nestle in my buttcrack. The way these sit on me means they almost reach high-waist, and I just love the silhouette. I wish I was brave enough to should my full arse, but you’ll have to take my word that it looks incredible.
I actually went for a custom size with the knickers in the end. The XXL was just too tight for these hips, but I certainly would recommend the custom sizing from them, since they came out literally perfect for my body.

Sexy Silk Dressing Gown
But although they’re a lingerie company, IDentity Lingerie also do a lovely line of nightwear! Made from Japanese Silk blended with polyester for easy care or full patterned lace. Their nightwear includes pyjamas, nightgowns and dressing gowns. I’m wearing the sexy silk dressing gown in black Japanese silk here. It feels like a daily luxury sort of dressing gown, if that makes sense? Super soft and silky, but not too delicate! I’m wearing the XXL in this, and although it doesn’t wrap around me as much as I’d like, it certainly fits more than in the photos! I promise it’s all for aesthetics’ sake. It’s going to be my ‘good morning’ or ‘getting ready’ dressing gown from now on.
