Okay, okay. I need to breathe for a little bit, clearly. But if by chance you follow anyone who likes vintage fashion in London over the weekend you might realise something exciting happened. Dita Von Teese brought The Art of the Teese stage show to Europe. And that included three nights at the opulent London Palladium.

Okay, okay. I said I needed to calm down because I’m still so excited about this whole night. The show itself was perfection. The production, the music, the costuming… literally everything about The Art of the Teese is sheer perfection.

I’ve never had the pleasure of seeing Dita perform before. Now, although I paid the £55 price tag for my seat, I’ve seen a lot of burlesque in my life, and was sure it wasn’t going to be anything really that special. But there’s a reason that Dita Von Teese is so popular, and that’s thanks to having honed her performance and skill to a tee.

Pictures weren’t allowed of course, but the Swarovski’s are sill burned into my retinas, and really I can’t recommend it enough.

So glad you asked, darlings! There was an unspoken rule that you had to dress up for this event. The queen of burlesque was in town, and nothing but your finery would do! I’ve never seen a better dressed crowd than this night.

After consulting my darlings on Instagram on whether to choose the Fashion Nova Spree Dress or the Boohoo Caped Dress, there was a clear winner! I don’t blame you, this dress is not only gorgeous but so easy to wear! Even with my Orchard Corset 426, which just looks INSANE under this dress!

I was stupid and didn’t manage to get many photos in the full outfit, however I did manage to get a photo with one of the Vontourage, Elio Martinez! He casually photobombed whilst I was posing in the hall, but with a suit like that? I’m not even mad. Also, of course, a fabulous performer.

It was a star-studded event, of course — I nearly knocked Boy George flying at one point — and I don’t think I’ve ever been as giddy as when I was paid a compliment by the cooking goddess Nigella Lawson. After talking about losing my confidence during my China visit, you can bet that it’s more than reinstated now. I don’t think I’ve felt as gorgeous as I did that night.

After the show, myself and Siobhan went over to Zedel’s for some cocktails. I’ve never been to Zedel’s before, but it certainly won’t be the last time!

I’m the fanciest of people, and certainly not the most ‘ladylike’ lady around, so being able to feel fancy whilst looking gorgeous really made the night so special. I’d spend that £55 again in a heartbeat!
