Last week I introduced you to a US brand that I’m absolutely loving at the moment, Fashion Nova. And this week its time for the Fashion Nova Curve Spree Dress to shine! And my god, THIS DRESS, guys.
Spoiler alert; I have never EVER felt as sexy as I do in this dress. And I don’t mention that loosely, because I really don’t believe I do ‘sexy’ well. I do cutesy, I do pretty, but sexy seems elusive to me. Until now. Because one dress came along, showed some thigh off in the National Portrait Gallery and made me just OWN my body and sexuality.
I first saw this dress on my Instagram crush, Miss Anna Stomosis and I fell in love. She looked so powerful and gorgeous and I was honestly in awe. So of course I wanted to emulate that with my vintage spin on things! It reminds me of an old Hollywood starlet’s dress, something Mansfield or Dors would sport.
I’ve mentioned a few times on the blog that I don’t really have boobs, and to wear this dress without a bra would really need fuller breasts than I have. But I wasn’t going to let that stop me, oh no! It was the perfect excuse to wear the Tallulah bra – also known as my sequinned wonder – from Playful Promises. Maybe it would look a little sexier without a gold sequin bra, but for me it was the perfect addition to the look.
I took the 2X in the Spree Dress, as I did with the Newport Beach dress from my last post. The fit is great, but unlike the last dress there’s a LOT of stretch. You can see in the top I could of easily gone down a size, but it fits my hips absolutely perfectly. So definitely size down if you’re in the lower end of your size range!
There’s little more I can really say about this dress. It’s made of a polyester/spandex blend fabric, but feels so luxurious. It’s soft against the skin and breathable, plus has enough weight that it drapes perfectly. I just love it, okay?
So the most exciting (and revealing) part of the Spree Dress is the thigh splits. The skirt is made of two pieces, front and back, and the splits are made through overlapping the fabric. This makes the fabric drape beautifully over the hips, and it means when you’re walking you’re showing some leg!
The Spree Dress costs just $40, which is an insanely good price considering the quality, plus how AMAZING it is. I honestly think everyone should have one of these dresses. And my UK darlings will be happy to hear that not only do Fashion Nova ship to the UK, but they also do free shipping over a $75 order! Which means with my discount code MELODYMAE for 20% off, you can buy both colours, plus a few bits of jewellery for just over £60. And that’s shipped within two weeks for FREE, too!

Sassy and FIERCE. I love that this dress made you feel amazing – and it absolutely shows. I also love it with the sequin bra (I mean. Any excuse to wear a sequin gold bra right??). =)

Ugh I’ve only just seen this comment!
Thank you so much!
I mean – there’s no excuse needed for a sequinned gold bra, to be fair! We need more glitzy tits!
