Well hello my darlings! I hope we’re all doing well today? London’s been a bit miserable, and I’ve been bit under the weather.
I’ve been a bit lazy with photographing my outfits again this week because of my low mood. But this week I’ve finally gotten around to showing you the perfect accessory for any outfit – Lola Von Rose Liquid Lipsticks!
I love lipstick. There’s something about lipstick that just makes a style pop. And it’s not just vintage styles that work well with lipstick. I think any style can be perfected with just a slick of lippy.
You possibly know Lola Von Rose from their gorgeous lucite reproduction bags, but not too long ago they also brought out perfect vintage-inspired liquid lipsticks! These gorgeous golden girls come in 16 different colours from true pink to the blackest black.
Today I’m showing you just five colours out of the collection. They’re vegan and cruelty free, with a matte finish and full colour coverage. And they come with the most gorgeous brushed gold packaging, which wouldn’t look amiss on any vintage dresser!
Vintage
Vintage is a deep cherry red, and the vampiest of the colours! I feel it looks a little dark on my skin tone, what do you think? It’s definitely a nighttime colour for me! But my god, it’s so rich and gorgeous!
Tea For Two
One thing I get stuck with on a regular basis is that I only ever wear red lipstick. Now, I know that makes sense – not only does the vintage style favour a bold red, but my hair is also red. But I’ve always wanted to try a slightly more neutral colour. This colour is a bit brown, a bit mauve, and a lot beautiful. My go-to on a lazy day is now wearing this and just mascara, it looks so put-together with so little effort.
Retro Red
I love the colour of this, but out of all the lipsticks I tried, this is actually a different consistency. It’s not quite as opaque or creamy as the others, which means it takes a few more coats to get the desired colour. In the end I found it didn’t last anywhere near as long as the others and became a bit flaky after a couple of hours, which is such a shame!
Red Roses
I’m always looking for the perfect red, as is any vintage-loving girl! As someone with red hair, it’s surprisingly quite difficult to find a red that is a similar enough shade to my hair balance out the look. My friends, Red Roses is the perfect red for me. It is love at first sight. I’ve even ended up using it on my eyebrows when I’ve forgotten my pencil, and it’s a perfect match!
Victorian Rose
I mentioned earlier about trying new colours, and frankly no one is complete without some form of pink lipstick, right? I was torn between going full fuchsia with Pink Roses or this — and although I like this colour, it’s more of a blue-based pink. Not a problem at all, I just think a red-based would suit me a bit better. You can’t say it’s not a bold colour choice though!
In conclusion, my Lola Von Rose lipsticks have actually replaced my daily lipsticks. The formula (aside from Retro Red!) is creamy and doesn’t dry your lips out. I find I can wear this for up to 12 hours with very little fading, and feathering doesn’t happen at all.
LVR liquid lipsticks are only $16 for 7g, which makes them cheaper, for .3 grams more of product and of comparable quality to KVD. Sure, they’re not quite as kiss proof as other brands, but when a small brand comes along with a great initial range of quality liquid lipsticks that ship around the world, you can’t complain about that aspect!
What do you think about Lola Von Rose Lipsticks?
Have you tried them before? Do you have a favourite colour they make? Or maybe a favourite colour on me? Or on you? I want to hear all about it!
All lipsticks were courtesy of Lola Von Rose, but my opinions are my own.
